J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College
J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College works with high school Carver Promise students to aid them in successfully transitioning from high school into more advanced levels of education and employment.
University of Richmond
The University of Richmond is where the seeds of the innovative plan to help prepare the city’s at-risk children for higher education were sown in 1991.  Soon this plan, known today as the Carver Promise, grew into an unprecedented coalition between Richmond Public Schools and four city colleges: Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Union University and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.
Virginia Commonwealth University
Virginia Commonwealth University has partnered with Carver Promise to increase the academic achievement of Carver students and an increase in parental, community, and university involvement in the school’s activities.
Virginia Union University
Virginia Union University’s student volunteers, along with students from other universities, serve as mentors to students at Carver Elementary School through our long-term mentoring program.  Because Carver Elementary School is located just blocks away from the university, students often walk to the mentoring site.
Virginia Mentoring Partnership
Virginia Mentoring Partnership exists to provide training and technical assistance to existing and developing mentoring programs to increase the number and quality of mentoring relationships for children and youth at risk in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
