Brenda is a career educator who spent over 25 years working in various capacities in Richmond Public Schools.  She served as the first principal of Open High School in 1978 and remained there until 1999, leading the school to become one of the highest performing in the district.  Following her tenure at Open High, Brenda served as Director of Personnel for Hanover Public Schools where she was responsible for recruiting and hiring all secondary administrators, teachers and counselors for the district.  Most recently, Brenda has worked for an organization called Moasaica Education, a nationally recognized charter school management company.  She has her BA in Psychology, Master of Arts in Teaching, and in 2001 completed her Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision at the University of Virginia.

Casey Rogers is our Program Coordinator.  She began volunteering with the Carver Promise in 1999 and was hired in 2000 as the Volunteer Coordinator. Ms. Rogers hails from Arlington, VA and has a BS in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master’s Degree in Sports Management. She's serves as a volunteer basketball coach for Richmond City Parks and Recreation, Senior Boys Division.

Willnette P. Lightfoot is the Data Management Specialist for The Carver Promise and has been a part of the staff since August 2004. She is a native of Richmond and a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a BS in Criminal Justice. Mrs. Lightfoot has worked for Richmond courts including Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. She has also worked with attorneys as a legal assistant in various fields. Prior to coming to The Carver Promise, Willnette was a Case Manager for the United States Bankruptcy Court in Tampa, FL. This position is responsible for managing our donor files, communicating with board of directors, reconciling development reports with accounting, produce and distributes regular development reports and maintaining current file of articles of incorporation.
